CIIE investment promotion begins in Yunnan

A 3-day investment and exhibition promotion for the 6th and 7th China International Import Expos (CIIE) kicked off on June 19 in central Yunnan’s Kunming city. The 6th CIIE will be held in east China's Shanghai in early November this year.

As part of the “Invest in China” series this year, the investment promotion is sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Yunnan Province, and it aims to create a new development pattern and serve local high-quality development.

The investment promotion features industrial matchmaking meetings and field visits to related industrial parks. Five matchmaking areas have been set up at a physical meeting site, including medical devices, agricultural products, auto service trade, technical equipment and more.

Data showed that as of June 15, this event had invited in 165 investment agencies from 29 countries and regions. Among them, 77 belong to the world's top 500 companies, and they would attend the investment promotion physically.

Yunnan province has sent over 10,000 departments and enterprises to the CIIE sessions in the past five years, with the intended purchase adding up to 12.714 billion US dollars.
