China-Vietnam border port records over 600,000 passengers in H1
The Youyi Pass, also known as Friendship Pass, on the China-Vietnam border recorded over 604,000 inbound and outbound passengers, up 180 percent year on year, during the first half of this year, according to local authorities.
Among these passengers, more than 30,000 were from over 1,900 tour groups, according to the Youyi Pass entry-exit border checkpoint in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The steady growth in the passenger number is mainly attributable to holidays clustered around traditional festivals, the China-Vietnam border tourism boom, and the resumption of the border inspection express channels.
According to the checkpoint, the Youyi Pass currently handles about 4,000 inbound and outbound passengers on a daily basis. With the start of the summer break in schools, there has also been a notable increase in cross-border tour groups.
To effectively handle the increasing passenger flow, The Youyi Pass has implemented a proactive customs declaration and pre-inspection mechanism for tour groups, and facilitated relevant guidance and inquiry services to ensure a smooth experience for the travelers.
