Duty personnel at the Maritime Bureau Traffic Management Center of Nanjing unexpectedly spotted a large animal swimming on the Yangtze River through a camera on the Yangtze River's third bridge on Nov. 27.

Upon zooming in, he discovered that the large animal was a wild boar. Approximately 12 minutes later, the wild boar successfully reached the opposite bank of the Yangtze River and quickly ran away.

Maritime staff observed that the boar had a robust physique, agile movements, and a very fast swimming speed. It appeared to be an adult boar, and its swimming posture was remarkably flexible. It even actively avoided various types of vessels sailing in the river.

The news has sparked discussions on the internet. Some netizens believed that the wild boar's physical strength and swimming skills are astonishing, perhaps even better than their own. Others think that the recent frequent sightings of wild boars in Nanjing city means that the city has excellent ecological environment.
