Zhang: Water cooperation spurs regional growth

Since the Lancang-Mekong cooperation (LMC) launch seven years ago, the six countries have deepened water cooperation, improving international relations in the rive basin and contributing to regional development, said Zhang Li, deputy secretary-general of the Lancang-Mekong Youth Exchange and Cooperation Center.

Zhang, also an assistant professor at the Institute of Belt and Road & Global Governance, Fudan University, added that as the Chinese province most adjacent to the Mekong countries, Yunnan maintained high-quality water cooperation with these countries.
