Recently, a China-Laos railway international cargo train loaded with 12 containers of 307 tons of Pu'er green coffee beans departed from Yunnan’s Pu'er City and headed for SW China's Chongqing Municipality. This marked Pu’er coffee beans to be exported by rail for the first time.

After the train arrived in Chongqing, the beans will be delivered to Europe via the China-Europe Railway Express through the Alashankou port of NW China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Pu'er City currently has a coffee planting area of more than 46,666 hectares, with the annual output of coffee beans about 55,000 tons, accounting for more than half of the country's total, ranking first in China.
