2022 CITM: Feel ingenuity in Baoshan, Dehong

The 2022 China International Travel Mart (CITM) will be held in Kunming, Yunnan province from July 22 to 24. The travel fair will kick off in 3 days!

Starting on July 13, the CITM news releases will focus on the 16 prefectures and cities around Yunnan, presenting their natural beauty, folk customs and growth in cultural tourism.

Today, let’s come to Baoshan city and Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture in southwest Yunnan, looking into their beauty, ingenuity, mildness and dynamism. The two places feature beauties in landscapes, ethnic cultures and more.

Baoshan good for travel, life, business

Baoshan city is located in the southwest of Yunnan province.

It has three world-class destinations of Mt. Gaoligong, a geothermal hot spring museum and the Southern Silk Road that reached South Asia.

With a forest coverage of 70%, the city houses over 240 geothermal spring fields, the migrant-bird habitat of Qinghuahai wetland park, and the ginkgo village of Jiangdong, the biggest collection of ginkgo trees in China.

In recent years, Baoshan has integrated culture into tourism

It has created four tourist corridors that feature "red culture, ancient passes, hot springs and China-Myanmar border customs".

Focusing on sight-seeing, it has created 99 A-level scenic areas, ranking first in Yunnan.

Local tourism has been fused into sports, rehabilitation services, agriculture, ecology, research projects, and night economy.

Baoshan has built up the Yongzi go pieces industrial park and the Changning ancient tea garden.

It rolled out the Tengchong international marathon route, the Southern Silk Road tour, and other tourist routes.

Dehong makes beautiful place in melodies

Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture is located in the frontier of southwest China.

The once popular Chinese songs of "There's a Beautiful Place" and "Phoenix-Tail Bamboo in the Moonlight" were created here, mirroring the beauty of Dehong.

Dehong borders Myanmar on three sides.

Before the Covid pandemic, the prefecture conducted one-day tours and three-day tours near the China-Myanmar border, injecting vigor into local tourism.

Typical cultural heritages in Dehong are paper-cutting, peacock dance, cucurbit flute, Munao Zongge show of the Jingpo ethnic group, and others.

Endowed with favorable climate, the prefecture has no severe cold in winter or big heat in summer. Flowers and fruits are seen all year round.

All the Dehong counties have access to expressway.

Since its opening, Mangshi Airport has launched air routes in succession, linking the prefecture to the Chinese cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xi'an and others, as well as to the Myanmar cities of Yangon and Mandalay.

Distinct tourist towns and villages around Dehong have been planned with the first-class or second-class tourist centers for better services.
