2022 CITM: Zhaotong, Qujing appealing to visitors

The 2022 China International Travel Mart (CITM) will be held in Kunming, Yunnan province from July 22 to 24.

The travel fair will kick off tomorrow!

Starting on July 13, the CITM news releases will focus on the 16 prefectures and cities around Yunnan, presenting their natural beauty, folk customs and growth in cultural tourism.

Today, let’s come to Zhaotong city and Qujing city in east Yunnan, looking into their beauty and road to tourism prosperity.

Mt. Wumeng shows its beauty in Zhaotong

A spring tour to Zhaotong features flowers in a natural outing, and a summer tour is refreshing and heat-avoiding. An autumn visit to the city is for fruits and dishes, while a winter visit sees cranes dancing gracefully on the plateau.

Zhaotong city is located at the tri-junction of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces.

In recent years, it has finalized its positioning as “a cultural-tourism destination among Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Chongqing”.

The city has quickened holistic tourism, rural tourism, eco-tourism and health tourism.

Zhaotong has created 10 tourist brands like "Apple Culture Festival", building up 29 tourist centers and 17 A-level scenic areas. It’s a best destination for cultural tourism in China and a first national resort for leisure.

Pearl River starts its flow in flowery Qujing

Located in east Yunnan, Qujing is the source of the Pearl River.

It is the second largest city/economy in Yunnan province, listed as a top-ten livable city in China for ten times.

Mountains, rivers, lakes, wetlands, caves, meadows and others are all present in Qujing, forming a beautiful eco-corridor.

The city’s tourist sector is based on its historic culture, pastoral landscape and eco-climate, featuring recreation, plateau sports and agro-tourism. Centering on the "Pearl River Source" brand, it will implement the development pattern of "one center, two wings and holistic linkup".

A modern medical tourist zone will be built up in central Qujing, together with a leisure zone in the city south and a cultural tourist zone in the north.

The city aims to be a leisure and rehabilitation destination for tourists from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao greater bay area and the Sichuan-Chongqing-Guizhou-Central Yunnan area.
