2022 CITM: Wenshan, Xishuangbanna present their best for your coming

The 2022 China International Travel Mart (CITM) will be held in Kunming, Yunnan province from July 22 to 24.

The travel fair will kick off in 1 day!

Starting on July 13, the CITM news releases will focus on the 16 prefectures and cities around Yunnan, presenting their natural beauty, folk customs and growth in cultural tourism.

Today, let’s come to Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture and Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, looking into their friendly folks, scenic areas and loving lifestyles.

Wenshan: An idyllic Eden

Located in southeast Yunnan, Wenshan is the shortcut for the province to access the Pearl River delta, or Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao greater bay area.

With a pleasant climate, the prefecture is a destination for health and well-being. The counties of Qiubei and Guangnan are rated as “national oxygen bars”.

As a "treasure land", it produces 50 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines, including pseudo-ginseng, malania oleifera and dendrobium.

A Wenshan tour is highlighted by the idyllic landscape of Puzhehei, a 5A-level scenic area popular among tourists at home and abroad. The Bamei village in Guangnan is like the Peach-Blossom Land in an article by ancient Chinese poet Tao Yuanming.

Aiming to be a rural-tourism destination with unique pastoral landscape, Wenshan has built up high-end hotels, fine homestays, 1,500km green belts and 5,100km flowery belts.

This year, it has planned to turn Puzhehei into an a national tourist resort, with an investment of 110 billion yuan.

Xishuangbanna: World-class tourist site

Located at the southernmost tip of Yunnan province, Xishuangbanna is the Chinese area with the best preserved tropical ecosystem. Known as the "kingdom of species" and "biological gene bank", it is also a key node linking up China, ASEAN and South Asia.

Xishuangbanna is taking actions to be a national example for holistic tourism.

The prefecture has built up 3 provincial pilot tourist zones, four model tourist resorts and 18 A-level tourist attractions (13 of which are 4A or 5A ones).

Creating new patterns of cultural tourism, it set up a national pilot town for tourism consumption and a model area for night economy and cultural tourism. In this, the Gaozhuangxi site has gained fame.

It has branded the Xishuangbanna water festival and the Lancang-Mekong culture festival, rolling out the Lancang-Mekong bonfire party and the Mengbalanaxi art show.
