Freight train with single document launched at Yunnan pilot FTZ

The launch ceremony of a new multi-modal freight by China-Laos trains was held on August 30 at the China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

With 46 carriages fully loaded, the freight train will carry 1,200 tons of goods worth more than USD 1.2 million from Kunming, China to Vientiane, Laos.

The transport mode with a single freight document allows trucks to carry the goods from their producers to Kunming freight station and then from Vientiane train station to further destinations.

As the transport procedures have been streamlined, the China-Laos railway will further integrated into regional economy, benefiting more businesses and consumers.
