The four-day tour will take the writers to the central Yunnan cities of Kunming and Yuxi, looking into the former residences of Nie Er.

Nie, a famous composer, was born in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province in 1912. He wrote March of the Volunteers, the Chinese national anthem.

“Via the famous writers, Nie Er and the Chinese national anthem will be better known to the world, and the event also makes a good chance for Yunnan writers to learn from their peers,” said Fan Wen, chair of the Yunnan Writers Association.

The Yunnan visits by nationwide writers are hosted by the Chinese Writers magazine and Yunnan Daily Press Group, with the first visit in early August focusing on Southwest Associated University and its poet professor Wen Yiduo.
