Clout Magnet: Talents at the 6th YCIEP

The 6th Yunnan Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (YCIEP) was unveiled in Kunming on November 12. This event is themed “gathering joint wisdom, promoting common development”.

As one of the activities for colleges and universities to attract talents, the South and Southeast Asia Young Scientists and Entrepreneurs Forum was held on November 13 in Kunming.

As a high-level exchange platform between young scientists and entrepreneurs from home and abroad, this forum aims at attracting talents to Yunnan to carry out innovation and entrepreneurial activities so as to cultivate competitive industries in the province and promote the common development of talents and Yunnan.

The event saw an participation of 150 outstanding young scientists and entrepreneurs. Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST) signed agreements of intent with five scientists and five representatives from enterprises stationed in the KUST Science and Technology Park.

188 projects presented in innovation and entrepreneurship contest

On November 13, Kunming launched the second round of the 7th Kunming Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest, an important activities of the YCIEP. 188 projects of five groups were presented.

This year, there are 5 groups in the contest, including enterprise group, international group and hometown-returning entrepreneurship group. The projects cover various fields such as advanced manufacturing, modern agriculture, mobile Internet, biomedical industry, cultural industry and modern service industry.

Since 2016, 238 projects have won the “Spring City Entrepreneurship Award”.

During the Dianchi Forum for Global Entrepreneurs, participants exchanged their views on the development of digital economy, green energy, biomedical industry and relevant talent training programs. A sideline roundtable forum was also held on cultivating talents for key industry development. And two special activities were held respectively to promote exchanges and cooperation among advanced manufacturing enterprises and biomedical enterprises.

Agreements were signed on eight key projects which will be carried out in the modern agricultural and industrial park in Anning, Kunming.

Professionals collaboration under BRI framework

The Professionals Collaboration under the Framework of Belt and Road Initiative(BRI) was held both virtually and physically to promote talent exchange and cooperation between Yunnan and South and Southeast Asian countries.

During the event, experts and professionals from home and abroad shared their views on international cooperation in human resources and attracting high-level international talents to Yunnan.
