Hand-knitted bags popular among Lahu folks

The homemade handbag is a most common article for daily use among the Lahu people. In Laodabao village, southwest Yunnan’s Lancang Lahu autonomous county, local Lahu people still follow the tradition of knitting bags with their hands.

Over the years, the tradition has seen innovations in patterns and colors. Additionally, the Lahu folks are trying to better pass down their ethnic cultures by weaving beautiful costumes in plainest ways.
