Peacock 2022 to hit Yunnan theatre twice

"The Peacock 2022", a dance drama starring Yunnan dancer Yang Liping, will be performed twice on September 19 and 20 at the Yunnan Grand Theater. Then the Yunnan troupe will kick off a national performing tour.

If swans represent Western dance, then peacocks should stands for Eastern dance. Debuting in 2012, the Peacock show was written and directed by Yang based on her well-known work "Spirit of Peacock," and Yang endowed it with unique splendor and charm through her graceful dancing moves.

Under the eternal themes of life and love, "The Peacock 2022" interprets universal human emotions, presenting Yang's view of art and life through her growth.

The peacock in the show is not only a bird but also a metaphor of humans with love. The show is divided into four chapters: spring, summer, autumn and winter, exploring the world by telling a story about growth, human nature, life and love.
