Micro film festival opens with entries totaling 30,000

The 9th Asian Micro Film Festival opened in southwest Yunnan’s Lincang city on Sept.14. Under the themes of "Integrating into the Belt and Road Initiative; Embracing openness for win-win cooperation", the film festival was hold online and offline, receiving 5,327 works -- 308 more than the last time.

Lincang was designated in 2013 as the permanent host city of the cultural event, with the "Golden Begonia" recognized as the highest award. Over the past decade, the festival has received over 30,000 micro films from worldwide contributors.

Directors, artists, and film and television stars from more than 30 countries have witnessed the growth of micro-filming art, and they helped enhance cultural exchanges in Asia and across the world.

Bordering Myanmar and adjacent to South and Southeast Asia, Lincang has been home to 24 ethnic groups. The diverse cultures, favorable location, and unique resources rendered the city into an ideal place for film making.
