Hotels for the indoorsy form new trend
During holidays, some people like to go to scenic spots while others like to stay indoors. But instead of being at home, they chose to stay in hotels. It is common for them to sleep long in hotels rather than hang out.
During the just past Mid-autumn Festival, many people celebrated the day with their families and friends in hotels. The hotels are equipped with recreation facilities or close to amusement parks and scenic spots.
Data from tourism website Fliggy showed that, with orders for local hotels during Mid-autumn Festival increasing, the number of orders for high-end hotels has recovered to 80% of that of last year.
The data at Qunar tourism website showed the reservation ratio of first-class hotels increased by more than 20% year on year. To be an indoorsy in hotels is now something really trendy during holidays.
Why do consumers like this new life style? The reason is that there are various ways to tour. Some people may like to have a tight schedule visiting scenic spots while others like to take it slow and enjoy life.
To the latter ones, the hotels provide them with one-stop services including accommodations, meals, entertainment, etc. Their final destination is just a hotel where they can be completely relaxed.
In addition, popularity of the new life style somehow shows the upgrade of tourism consumption. With the living standard of people and the tourism system improving, the demand of consumers has transformed slowly from visiting scenic spots to relaxation.
The change in the market urged corresponding changes from supply configuration of the various elements of tourism. The growing demand of relaxing on holidays has led all kinds of hotels to rapid growth.
It is predicted that, even after the pandemic, this trend will remain. By then, consumers will have a wider range of activities to chose for their holidays.
For hotels, they need to keep close bonds with the indoorsy. Despite improved facilities, the key for hotels to attract consumers is to improve customized services.
