The mini-train for sightseeing in Kaiyuan city, south Yunnan’s Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture, has attracted crowds of tourists during the National Day holiday.
As the only meter-gauge passenger train on the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway, it has been taken by over 200,000 tourists in the past four years.
After a 15-year suspension, the mini-train resumed its service in July 2018, and it has retained the old-fashioned charm with its green carriages, wooden seats, and old swinging fans.
The train has four carriages and a capacity of 206 passengers. The journey is about 11.6 kilometers, passing through 7 stations along the way.
Visitors enjoyed the mountainous scenery of Kaiyua and listened to the century-old stories of the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway.
The mini-train optimizes the Kaiyuan tourism and boosts local economy by displaying the cultural aspects of the international railway.
