Tea boiled on fire in Mt. Jingmai
Located in Pu’er city, Yunnan province, Mt. Jingmai is covered with green tea forests. The Bulang people here are still living in almost the same way as their forefathers were.
The tea is a traditional drink for Bulang folks for generations. They usually pick out several pieces of burning coals and put them into a small flat clay bowl, which contains tea leaves. With the heat from the coals, they start to fry the tea. Then, the tea will be boiled in a clay jar. Finally, they share the tea with clay cups.
The sunshine sends beams of light from the translucent tiles on the roof. It seems as if the fragrance of the tea were spreading with the sunshine. Here in Mt. Jingmai, tourists can join the Bulang people wearing skirts in their typical style and try to boil a jar of tea themselves.
