Go Deep in Lijiang: Charming Zhongyi market
If you want to know more about a city, you should go to the traditional wet market. The Lijiang Zhongyi market is such a place that will help visitors know Lijiang better.
Located at the south of Lijiang ancient town, Zhongyi Market is full of bustle and hustle. In the market, you can even see the snow mountain. It sells vegetables, fruits, meats, as well as potherbs. Here, many cuisines of Lijiang style can be tasted.
In one of the small shops, the owner is making glutinous rice balls with sweet stuffing. The milk fans are roasted, with rose jam evenly brushed them. Then, they will be sold to customers.
Er Kuai, a traditional Yunnan snack, is just like pounded-rice pie. The pickles, shredded potatoes, and meat paste were wrapped in the roasted Er Kuai. It is highly popular among local folks.
The small-pot rice noodles are another typical dish in the market. The taste come from both traditional sauce and local leeks.
In the market, there are also many aged craftsmen and their handmade works. The crowded clothing stores are of typical Naxi style.
Thus, in Zhongyi Market, you can see things of Lijiang style. This is the reason why it is attractive to visitors and local citizens.
