Dai people cannot live without bamboo. With a long history, bamboo weaving is a unique folk handicraft in Jinggu county of SW Yunnan’s Pu’er.

People in the county's Mangong village have inherited the traditional bamboo weaving techniques. They are good at making bamboo tables, benches, fish cages, baskets, lunch boxes and more, which can be regarded as artworks.

Some of the works were even sold to the surrounding cities. The handicraft has become a source of income for villagers in Jinggu.
