Over 120 overseas travel agents from countries such as France, the United States, Russia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and more gathered at Jimaishan in Pu'er, experiencing a tea journey that blends magnificent landscapes with profound history in Mt. Jingmai of Pu’er city recently.

The Georgian exhibition area at the just-concluded 2023 China International Travel Mart (CITM) attracted many visitors by placing a few small tables with unique-patterned table clothes. And on the tables, there are red and sparkling wine just beside brochures of tourism of Georgia.

Blue ocean, golden beach, sunset glow and image of elephants are typical elements of Sri Lanka. And these formed the Sri Lanka exhibition area on the 2023 China International Travel Mart (CITM) held from Nov. 17 to 19. On the small stage outside the booth, traditional folk dance of the country won visitors’ applause.

“This is where mount Tai rose to the sky. This is where the Yellow River pours into the sea. This is where Confucius was born. Welcome to Shandong, China!” said the person in charge of Shandong’s exhibition area.

“My father Wang Qixiang is the fourth generation of inheritors of palm weaving, one of our intangible cultural heritages in north China’s Hebei province,” said Wang Sanna, market manager of Saosaole Household Producer Cop. Ltd.

Ratan Lal, Vice-Chancellor of Shri Khushal Das University, showed his further expectation over education cooperation.

Shao Weiqing, Vice President of Yunnan Minzu University, praised the great influence of education cooperation in promoting the common development between China and India.

Professor Chandra Shekhar Dubey, former Vice-Chancellor of K.R Mangalam University, sincerely invited Chinese students to study in India.

Sepak takraw brings Thai student Pholthiphat Rakphanasan more than just skills, who is getting healthier and receiving friendship because of the game.

Sepak takraw is widely welcomed in Thailand through centuries. Now, the young generation is playing too. For Issadech Leekaewsal, who started playing from childhood, is now practicing everyday.

Bounthavy, a doctoral student in Yunnan University, comes from Laos. Loving sepak takraw since boyhood, he said that sweating for sports is better than crying for soap operas.

Sepak takraw is a traditionally popular sport with hundreds of years’ history in southeast Asian countries. Requiring great skills and competitiveness from the athletes, the sport is attractive to spectators.

“I’m very proud of myself and (it’s an) honor, because the China team beat (defend) very well and we can not control the processing,” said Naraphornrapat Taravadee.

Sri-Lanka is praised as a pearl on the Indian Ocean. Among the tea varieties in this country, Ceylon black tea is famous around the world and is a business card of Sri-Lanka tea culture.

The Chinese word “茶”/tea means “man living in plants. Both the old tea in Mt. Gaoligong and the tasty Changning black tea mirror man-nature harmony.
