The physical job fair will be going on from 9:00 to 17:00 on November 12 at Yunnan Conference Center near the Dianchi Lake, with 27 employers offering 450 positions for international talents.

The online talent recruitment will be done via the Yunnan Talent Network and the WeChat public account of Yunnan Talent Market from November 7 to 13, with over 200 companies providing nearly 4,000 jobs.

Human resources are the most dynamic factor in social productivity, and all innovations and creations are inseparable from talents. Yunnan, as the Chinese pivot of opening up to south and southeast Asia, has the advantage of attracting international talents for development.

The province has consecutively held five sessions of the YCIEP, opening an key channel for attracting talents and pooling wisdom. From 2012 to 2021, the number of talents in Yunnan increased from 3,571,500 to 6,110,800, and 204 were specially selected for diverse national projects.

Seven high-end talents were promoted as academicians of the "two academies", namely the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Now Yunnan houses 13 academicians in the two institutions, standing out among the western Chinese provinces.

The introduced talents are playing an increasingly important role in strengthening provincial industries, giving a strong pull to the high-quality development in Yunnan.

However, Yunnan is still a lagging behind as an underdeveloped area with a shortage of talents, especially high-end talents, and it remains unsustained in innovation.

At present, the changes unseen in a century and the Covid pandemic are intertwined, and a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is booming all over the world.

In building a new development pattern of "dual circulation", which takes domestic development as the mainstay, with domestic and international development reinforcing each other, the production factors are going through rapid reorganization, and as a result the competition for talents is becoming increasingly fierce.

Taking the YCIEP as an opportunity, Yunnan needs to build itself into a new Chinese talent magnet and regional human resources center facing South Asia and Southeast Asia. It is of great significance for the province to make up for weak links and write a new chapter in the new journey.
