The 6th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo opened in Dunhuang city, northwest China’s Gansu province on September 6.

With the theme of "Connecting the World, Cultural Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Civilizations," this year's expo aims to serve the Belt and Road cooperation, preserve the Dunhuang culture and empower socioeconomic development.

The expo featured 13 forums and special exhibitions, where the unique history and culture of Dunhuang, a key stop on the Silk Road, were told and displayed via cultural relics, art works and creative products.

The Dunhuang cultural event has been held annually since 2016.
