Located in the southeast of Yunnan province, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture is an ideal tourist destination that features a pleasant climate, charming sights and diverse cultures.

The altitude in Wenshan averages at 1,000 to 1,800 meters. The Qiubei and Guangnan counties of the prefecture were titled as “Chinese natural oxygen bars”, while Mt. Xiangping in Xichou county boasts a forest coverage of 95% -- each cubic centimeter of air contains over 45,000 negative oxygen ions. With the Tropic of Cancer passing through, the whole prefecture has lush vegetation and excellent air.

Wenshan is home to 50 plus types of Chinese herbal medicines, including Panax notoginseng. Dubbed as “more valuable than gold,” it is a first-class medicine for treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Malania oleifera is rich in nervonic acid, and it has the effect of assisting human nerve repair. Dendrobium officinale is another precious Chinese herbal medicine called "life-saving grass". The prefecture also houses dazzling gems such as emeralds and garnets.

With rich tourism resources, national virgin forests, vast karst wetlands and lake-side peaks, Wenshan is a gene pool of species, a paradise of birds, and a sea of lotus. The pastoral view of Puzhehei, a 5A national scenic spot, is deeply loved by tourists at home and abroad. Bamei village in Guangnan county impresses tourists with idyllic beauty: dreamy countryside and winding landscape. The prefecture also features diverse ethnic cultures and customs. The Huashan festival of the Miao ethnic group, the Zhuang festival on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month, the Yi face-smearing festival, and the sun-worshipping festival for women have all become signatures of local tourism.
