Baby elephants forage in Jiangcheng

Four wild Asian elephant calves have been spotted foraging together in the “Elephant Canteen” of Jiangcheng county, southwest Yunnan’s Puer by local monitors.
According to the statics, more than 50 wild Asian elephants inhabit Jiangcheng County. Since the winter began, Zhenyuan specially opened the elephant canteen, a special land growing elephants’ favorite plants for the elephants.
To ensure the safety of both humans and elephants, the local authorities have taken ground and air monitoring efforts to give timely warnings to the villagers to avoid the human-elephant conflicts.
