Hit TV series boosts Yunnan tourism

As the hit TV series Meet Yourself was shot in Dali, Yunnan province, Dali prefecture has become a hot spot for tourists in the 7-day Spring Festival holiday.

The Ancient Tea Horse Road of Fengyangyi, the Shaxi Ancient Town, and the Xizhou Ancient Town have ushered in crowds of fans of the series.

Data showed that during the Spring Festival golden week, Dali has received 4,239,300 tourists, an increase of 219% year on year, and the prefecture has achieved a record high tourism revenue of 3.16 billion yuan.

Meet Yourself tells a story of its chief actress Xu Hongdou. After Xu’s best friend’s death, Xu found it hard to continue her life and job. Thus, she went to the Yunmiao village in Dali alone and stayed in Youfeng bed-and-breakfast inn. Here, she met Xie Zhiyao, who gave up a highly paid job to start a business in his hometown. Then, they two fall in love.

Other than the attractive story itself, many beautiful tour spots, gourmets and intangible cultural heritages were shown in the TV series. The audience were so impressed. Following its first appearing on Jan. 3rd , the online searches of milk fan, flower cake and cherry wine and others appeared in the series have been increasing.
