TV drama makes Dali a hot travel destination

During the Spring Festival holiday, Yunnan’s Dali, the filming location of the viral TV drama Meet Yourself, became one of the hottest tourist attractions that has triggered heated discussion.

Xu Hongdou, the heroine of the story, resigned and moved to Yunmiao village in Dali after the sudden death of her friend. She lived in an idyllic courtyard surrounded by picturesque scenery, where she met different travellers and tenants and fell in love with Xie Zhiyao, a young man returning to his hometown to start a business.
The natural beauty and history culture of Dali create a poetic background for the story. Local features and handicrafts are also inserted in the plots. Rice noodles, milk-fan, glutinous rice cake, as well as Bai people’s traditional tie-dye, intangible heritage embroidery and Jianchuan wood carving craftsmanship.......The TV show the audience a stunning panorama of Daili.

Yunnan-related content’s search volume saw a sharp increase one week after the launch of Meet Yourself on January 3. The search number of “Dali” nearly doubled, and “Shaxi ancient town” increased more than tenfold. Meanwhile, the drama made Yunnan cuisine a hot search topic. The sales of cross-bridge rice noodles, flower cakes, baojiang tofu and other speciality food on the shopping platform surged.
