The Kunming area of the China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone issued March 8 a business license to the China-Laos International Travel Agency, the first joint venture of its kind in Yunnan province.

The joint venture was set up by two Lao investors, Wang Wei (Chinese name) and Wen Pengyu (Chinese name), as well as by investors with the Rongzhi Cross-border Information Consulting Co. In the Yunnan pilot trade zone.
Next, the company will focus on travel consulting, project planning, and culture and art exchanging services. Taking the China-Laos Railway as a great opportunity, the company is going to promote travel exchanges between the two countries.

Wang Wei is a Lao student who is still in his junior year at Kunming University. He has been sharing the life, culture and scenic spots of Yunnan online as a travel blogger for a few years.

Wang hopes that more Laotians could learn about the life in China and in Yunnan. Through his accounts on Tik-Tok and other video apps, Wang has also shared Laos' tourism resources and culture.

Universities in Yunnan also encouraged Lao students to stay and start business with innovation. And this move will be helpful for the cooperation between China-Laos folks and enterprises.

“Since this Spring Festival, streams of Chinese has come to Laos for travel,” said Wang. “Our team in Laos has received many Chinese tourists, who consulted us for travel information or investment.”
