Since January, the price index in Kunming International Flower Auction Trading Center (KIFA) has continued to rise. The total supply of flowers nearly reached 200 million, an increase of nearly 10% compared to the same period last year.

According to the KIFA, during the past International Women’s Day (IWD) holiday, the average price of the main class of flowers has reached 4.54yuan, an increase of 26% year-on-year. Meanwhile, distributor registration has increased 16% and supplier bases have increased 5% year on year.

“The market is recovering,” said Li Zhijun, deputy director of the auction department of KIFA. “With the help of diversified distribution channels, the price of flowers remains high in the first quarter.”

As the market is steadily advancing, the daily number of logistic staff has increased to more than 440 in the center. The operation system is further improved because of the systematic training provided to the staff and improvement in working steps.
