Since the China-Laos railway was put into operation in December 2021, Pu'er city in southwest Yunnan has been in the era of high-speed railway, and local coffee is thus sold at home and abroad on the galloping train.

Thanks to this efficient "golden railway", the Pu'er-Kunming commuting time is shortened from 5 hours to 3 hours, and the Pu'er-Mohan land port trip is cut from 3.3 hours to 2 hours, saving 66% of logistics costs.

Bordering Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar, Pu'er is the largest ecological oasis on the tropic of cancer. With the largest coffee planting area, the coffee highest yield and the best quality in China, Pu’er is a hub of coffee trade.

Nestle, Starbucks and other international coffee enterprises have carried out business in Pu'er for a long time. In 2022, the export value of Pu'er coffee beans reached 462 million yuan, increasing 296.4% year on year.

Since the China-Laos Railway opening, the Lancang-Mekong express trains have been launched to facilitate cross-border commerce and connect with the China-Europe freight trains, enhancing the cross-border freight capacity and enabling more enterprises like Nestle to enjoy the golden opportunities.

As an international coffee enterprise that has been engaged in Pu'er for 34 years, Nestle has purchased more than 180,000 tons of coffee beans in Pu'er, becoming the largest purchaser of Pu'er coffee. From March 2022 to now, about 8,000 tons of coffee beans have been exported by rail, saving 10% costs in transportation.
