Tiger festival held in Shuangbai county

With the theme of meeting in Chuxiong, the 2023 Tiger Cultural Festival kicked off in Shuangbai County, central Yunnan's Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture on March 17.
The 3-day festival features an all-round display of Shuangbai's original folk customs, with activities including an opening ceremony, a bonfire carnival, a folk song contest, a top-spinning competition, a food tasting and more.
Hailed as home of the Yi culture in China, Shuangbai has preserved the tiger customs for more than 6,500 years, forming a unique tiger worship among Yi people. Since 2007, the county has been holding the cultural festival yearly.
