Kunming to foster a 100-billion-yuan flower sector

Flowers are blooming in China, and the Chinese city Kunming is the "flower capital of Asia".

With a thousand-year history of flower cultivation, Kunming has integrated development of its flower industry. While contributing to the "Yunnan flower" brand, the city aims to create a 100-billion-yuan flower sector.

On July 24, 2022, Kunming Dounan International Flower Company signed an agreement with Wuhan International Trade City Group to jointly build up a flower town in Wuhan, creating a 10-billion-yuan flower industry chain in the middle of the Yangtze River.

Kunming International Flower Auction Trading Center opened a branch in Fengtai district in Beijing in August 2022, allowing Kunming fresh flowers to access the Beijing market via digital trade.

On March 3, 2023, Kunming had another investment promotion for the flower industry online and offline, inviting in 400 business representatives from across the country. 43 flower industry projects were signed with a total value 12.68 billion yuan.
