4.21 tons of fresh blueberries, raspberries and blackberries produced in Menghai county, south Yunnan's Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, were recently shipped to Singapore via the sea route for the first time.

A total of 21.4 tons of berries worth over 3,00,000 yuan have been exported by Xishuangbanna Customs this year, and the recent batch of berries is valued at 505,800 yuan by the inspection and quarantine officers.

"The climate in Xishuangbanna is ideal for growing berries. Since 2022, we have been tapping the oversea markets, and this year we achieved our first shipment to Singapore," Wang Yiqi, manager of the import and export trade department of Manberry (Xishuangbanna) Berry Planting Co., Ltd., said.

The head of the comprehensive business department of Xishuangbanna Customs introduced that they facilitated the berry export by visiting traders, guiding enterprises in registration, and informing enterprises of foreign laws and regulations.

Enterprises should get the certificate of origin as well as phytosanitary certificates, and complete the export origin inspection, quarantine and clearance procedures.
