Hekou Port sees 600,000 tons of cargo pass through

More than 610,000 tons of freight have been transported through Hekou Port in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 66.2%, according to the latest statistics from the Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station of Hekou.
Hekou is a county on the China-Vietnam border section in southeast Yunnan’s Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous prefecture
The border inspection station has also cleared 42,000 vehicles, an increase of 49.6% year-on-year. More than 53,000 people have crossed the border, an increase of 79.8% year-on-year.
As a largest land port between China and Vietnam, Hekou has seen the Chinese imports of cassava chips, rotary-cut veneer, dragon fruit and gackfruit from Vietnam. China mostly exports vegetables, ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate and electronic equipment.
