Botanical garden enters season of fireflies

These days stand for the best time to watch fireflies in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Thousands of fireflies are swarming in the garden.

They fly up and down in between the leaves, grass and above the lake. Some of them even get close touch with the tourists making the garden a fairy land.

There are about 2,000 types of fireflies around the world. They live in humid places in the temperate and tropical zones, with their activities mostly near water bodies.
