Challenge Yunnan: Jacarandas, shellac and biodiversity

Since late April, the images and short videos about jacaranda blossom in southwest Yunnan’s Kunming have gone viral on China’s social media.

One after another streets have been turned into fairylands literally by the jacaranda burst of lilac.

In this episode of Challenge Yunnan presented by Explain Studio, Jerry and his friend Yannick from France kicked off a special tour in Kunming to enjoy the blooming flowers as well as a range of activities and food available.

Yannick, as the general manager of a chemical enterprise based in Kunming’ Anning, also shared his observation on how biodiversity has made Yunnan a more incredible place.
