Yunnan-Laos villagers light up solar lamps for BRI anniversary

Residents from two villages in south Yunnan’s Mengla county and north Laos's Muang Sing, Luang Namtha simultaneously lit up environment-friendly solar lamps on October 10, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The Guofang and Ban Paphouk villages in the border areas have benefited form the BRI projects over the years, such as the China-Laos Railway. And the 1,000 plus villagers will soon benefit from another BRI project for them, where 134 solar street lamps have been under construction since September.
