Chinese consumers have been increasingly focused on healthcare in recent years. According to a McKinsey study, more than 70% of post-90s individuals prioritize fitness. And the main domestic consumers of wellness products are between the ages of 26 and 30.

Among the younger population, there is a preference for the "new Chinese healthcare," which is a modern health-care approach with traditional fitness theory.

The "new Chinese-style healthcare" is becoming increasingly popular among young people who are interested in food therapy based on the "food-medicine homology" theory. This involves consuming certain foods and drinks, such as wolfberry tea and ginseng tea, for their therapeutic benefits. These remedies are favored for their convenience and quick results.

Data shows that the health and wellness market in China has surpassed one trillion yuan. On average, urban residents spend more than 1,000 yuan annually on their health. Among them, young people aged 18 to 35 account for 83.7%, according to the "2017-2022 Market Development Status and Investment Prospect Forecast Report of China's Health and Wellness Industry."

In addition, young people seek both utility and quality in their healthcare products. The post-00s and post-95s generations prefer healthy food that is not only delicious but also visually appealing, and they are willing to pay more for products with stylish designs and better user experiences. Furthermore, the post-80s and post-90s generations value sophisticated functions and endorsements from professional institutes.
