684 million get online for music in China

According to the 51th report on the development of Chinese internet released by the Chinese Internet Information center recently, the number of Chinese users of online music platform has already reached 684 million in 2022, accounting for 64.1% of the number of the net user.

As the online music are getting closer to our life, many people are enjoying the charm of music through the internet conveniently. Online platforms providing music are also bringing the users more pleasant experience trough the integration of multiple technologies.

The online platforms are of importance to the music industry’s development. An increasing number of musicians are trying to build their own personal brands with the help of internet, by trying diverse methods and multiple ways.

Some songs and music were made into background music for short videos online and then went viral. This also boosted the influence of the singers behind. As classic music, pop songs, traditional Chinese style music, European-American style music, and instrumental music, and raps were provided, users can find whatever they want on the music platform.

“Only when the value of music were recognized by the users and the users were willing to pay for what they want to listen to, can they be of strong support to the industry, ” said Lin Haiqiang, general manager of the commercial commodity center of Tencent Music Entertainment Group.

According to the financial report from the group, its total income has reached 2.834 billion yuan in 2022. The number of users willing to pay for the music has reached 88.5 million with an increase of 16.1% year-on-year.

At present, the digital technologies are developing rapidly. The platforms are focusing on advancing their technologies as well. With innovation in technologies, the whole industry is upgraded through digitalization.
