Young people love museums

Recently on social media platforms, an increasing number of young people are sharing their experiences of visiting museums. Physical exhibitions and virtual tours have become popular with the younger generation.

According to data released by the National Museum of China, visitors under the age of 35 accounted for over 50% of the total in 2021. Then in 2022, a survey conducted by the China Youth Daily showed that 89.72% of college students had visited museums, with 42.04% of them going 1 to 2 times per year.

In recent years, museums have been exploring ways to present cultural relics. Some museums use social media as a platform to attract young people by adopting humorous and witty language in their official accounts. They frequently create cultural memes and interact with their followers. These positive changes have led young people to museum visits.
