As a novel form of consumption, the "leftover food blind box" allows people to order and buy food sold by restaurants before closing through the Internet. This not only saves them money but also makes shopping funnier.

Various types of bread, milk tea, dumplings, and light meals may all be put in the blind boxes. Mobile apps allow users to purchase Chinese pastries, prepared cuisine, coffee and so on for less than one-third of their original cost.

One day after finishing work, Jin Xuan, a white-collar worker in Beijing, passed by a restaurant and noticed a promotional poster outside that read "Leftover food blind box." Intrigued by this innovative concept and enticing prices, Jin Xuan stepped inside.

Upon returning home with the blind box, Jin Xuan was pleasantly surprised to find sushi rolls, salads, various snacks, and desserts inside. "For only 20 yuan, I could buy food that would normally cost 100 yuan, enough to cover two days' meals," exclaimed Jin, who then became a devoted fan of the "leftover food blind box."

Although the contents of the blind box are collected randomly from the day's leftover food of the restaurant, the restaurant owners emphasize that all the food is fully edible and has undergone hygiene and quality checks.

"It's not just a meal. It's more like an adventure. Not until you open the box can you know what you will eat. Plus, when you calculate the total value, you will realize how much money you have saved," says Yoyo, a busy white-collar worker in Beijing. Since she tried the "leftover food blind box," this delightful and cost-effective novelty has become a part of her daily life.

Yoyo spends every night happily browsing various platforms to find interesting food bind boxes. "In fact, these blind boxes enrich my recipe and let me enjoy more delicious food while reducing food waste. What a double advantage," said Yoyo.
