The China · Chuxiong 2023 Torch Festival took place in central Yunnan's Chuxiong Yi autonomous prefecture between August 10 and 12.

One pedestrian street inside the Yiren Old Town Scenic Area in Chuxiong city was transformed into a space to showcase the traditional embroidery techniques of Yi people during the festival.

Visitors and tourists from Yunnan and beyond were lured to the street to learn about this unique cultural heritage of Yi people that has been passed on throughout generations.

"Embroidery products from across Chuxiong were available for purchase.

"I've been amazed by the handbags, dolls and other accessories with the patterns of Yi embroidery. They are just so beautiful," said Mrs. Huang, a tourist from Kunming, Yunnan's capital city.

This pedestrian street was open to the public between August 8 and 12.
