Smartness is one of the organizing principles for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou. Whether in the design and operation of venues, athlete participation, spectator experiences, or the digital torchbearer at the opening, there is a futuristic feel to all.

The efficient execution of the opening ceremony is thanks to the smart command system, which combines technologies like 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and artificial intelligence (AI). For instance, the rapid and orderly evacuation of spectators was achieved through the installation of green lights in each section. If the green light illuminated, it means that the audience in that section could exit. This decision was based on real-time data analysis of the crowd's movement.

At the Asian Games, it's not just the system responsible for ensuring the smooth conduct of the opening ceremony and the 56 sporting events across various venues. There are also innovations like self-driving ice cream carts, robot pianists, and automated mosquito-catching robots.

In the Asian Games Village, mosquito-catching robots use the principle of simulating human respiration. By collecting carbon dioxide from the air, these robots maintain a carbon dioxide concentration similar to that of a human, tricking mosquitoes into believing it's a human target, thus efficiently eliminating mosquitoes.

Robot dogs can run, jump, and perform acrobatics, as well as inspect power facilities. The orange robot, Xiaole, can play over 30 different styles of music on the piano, while robot dogs dance to the rhythm.

Auto-driving shuttles provide services around the Shaoxing Baseball and Softball Sports and Cultural Center. Additionally, athletes can use a ping-pong robot to test their reflexes. This robot incorporates advanced visual recognition systems, AI algorithms, and an intelligent operating system, resulting in exceptional table tennis skills.
