C919 boosts industries
Recently, the C919 successfully completed its first commercial flight and officially entered the civil aviation market. It not only took passengers into sky but is also driving the upgrade of China's aviation industry.
As of the end of last year, the C919 had received 32 customers and 1,035 orders. The orders are still expanding this year. Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) signed a purchase agreement for 100 air crafts with Hainan Airlines Group in April this year, including a confirmed order for 60 C919 air crafts.
Li Xiaojin, director of the Institute of Aviation Economy at the Civil Aviation University of China, said that the commercial operation and mass production of the C919 have brought business opportunities to upstream and downstream enterprises, promoting the comprehensive upgrade of the domestic aviation industry supply chain. As a single C919 aircraft contains over 4 million components, private enterprises received orders and also achieved technological breakthroughs.
According to relevant data, in the next 20 years, it is estimated that over 40,000 civil aircraft will be delivered globally, valuing over 6 trillion US dollars. Among them, the Chinese aviation market is expected to receive over 9,000 new aircraft, with a value of approximately 1.39 trillion US dollars.
