Two investment matchmaking meetings for the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) were held in central Yunnan’s Kunming city on June 20, gathering international exhibitors from 23 countries and over 300 enterprises from Yunnan province.
The CIIE promotion meetings aim to “turn exhibits into commodities and exhibitors into investors”. The participating exhibitors are mostly engaged in agricultural products, consumer goods, service trade, banking services, medical devices, health care and others.

During one meeting, Yuntianhua Group signed framework agreements for procuring agricultural products, energy chemicals and others from ADM, Louis Dreyfus, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Pohang International. The values of the deals added up to 800 million US dollars.
"At today's meeting, the Thai enterprises agreed to visit Yunnan province after the CIIE this year, and their business tour will focus on possible investment in the pharmaceutical industry," said a participant from south Yunnan’s Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, adding they also contacted with a US business for exhibiting the Pu'er tea.

At the other meeting, the Bank of China (BOC) introduced their e-business platforms of the official website and the BOC app, in a bid to help Yunnan enterprises to better go global by providing more business opportunities.
The BOC session invited in representatives from some 200 Yunnan businesses, and they had one-on-one talks with overseas merchants in an "online plus offline" mode. So far, more than 30 cooperation projects have been initially agreed upon, with an accumulated value of 200 million US dollars.
