"China has established sci-tech cooperative relations with 160 plus countries and regions in the world, remaining active in multilateral mechanisms such as the International Energy Agency's technical cooperation plans and the ministerial conferences on innovation mission and clean energy," said Dai Gang, director general of the International Cooperation Department of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology.

At the forum, new-energy academicians from China, Japan and south Korea gave keynote speeches on pumped storage power stations, carbon neutrality, photocatalytic technology and high-temperature fuel cells, and they proposed that countries continue pragmatic cooperation in the new-energy field.

“Some 90% of the electric power generated in Yunnan is clean energy, and of the province’s electricity trade with its partners, 97% percent belongs to clean energy,” said Song Guangxing, deputy director-general of Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, noting Yunnan leads the country in hydropower, wind power and solar energy.
