The Mekong media chiefs and journalists, who just attended the 2023 Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Media Summit in Beijing and are on the follow-up exchange activities in China, visited Yunnan province on July 3.
During their visit in Yunnan, the Mekong journalists from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam stopped at the Kunming-based Yunnan University and Yunnan International Communication Center for South and Southeast, sharing views on the LMC mechanism, cultural exchanges and media cooperation.

The Mekong guests said the LMC mechanism has been growing sound and fast for seven years, and the cooperation has achieved fruitful results. In view of the family-like ties among the six Lancang-Mekong countries, they said media in the region should increase cooperation for more people-to-people exchanges in the river basin.
As a Chinese province that pilots the LMC, Yunnan is giving full play to its geographical closeness and cultural similarity to the Mekong countries. By deepening exchanges and cooperation with their Mekong peers, Yunnan media are boosting the LMC in economy, trade, agriculture, culture and education.
