More than 57 million flowers at central Yunnan’s Kunming Flower Auction Center have been sold to destinations in China and beyond from August 2 to 17, representing a big increase of 42% year on year.

The major driving force behind the increase was the celebrations over the past weeks for the Qixi Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day, which falls on August 22 this year.
