Yunnan governor Wang Yubo meets with Californian treasurer Fiona Ma in central Yunnan’s Kunming city on September 5.

“I hope that through this visit, Ms. Ma and I could jointly carry forward exchanges and cooperation between Yunnan province and California state in trade, investment, agriculture, education and tourism, contributing to the healthy development of Sino-US relations,” said Yunnan governor Wang Yubo on September 5.

Wang said this at a meeting with visiting Californian state treasurer Fiona Ma in central Yunnan’s Kunming city, adding that Yunnan is opening-up wider to the world at a high level and striving to make a difference in provincial development via the path to Chinese modernization.

In response, Ma said that California has an important position in the US economy, and she hopes to further cooperate with Yunnan in environment, CO2 emission, new energy, higher education and wine making. “We are willing to encourage more Californian enterprises to invest in Yunnan for mutual benefit and common development.”
