Over 5.23 million rail, air trips made in Yunnan during holiday

The railway stations and airports in Yunnan province handled a total of 5,237,400 passenger trips during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday that lasted from September 29 to October 6.
Yunnan railways served 3.73 million passengers during the holiday, an increase of 59.5% compared with the number in 2019. On September 29, the railways handled 516,000 passengers, a new record of daily passenger flow.

In response to the travel rush, China Railway Kunming Bureau operated a maximum of 490 passengers’ trains per day, of which 82 belong to the temporary trains.
A total of 11,596 flights either took off or landed at Yunnan airports, providing service to 1,507,400 air passengers and transporting 8,732.5 tons of cargo.
The cross-border air passengers are mostly youngsters, with their top destinations being Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.
