Cambodian airport BOT by Yunnan put into operation, telling BRI ideas
The Siem Reap Angkor International Airport in Cambodia began its operation on October 16, with the landing of its first flight from Thailand. Some 400 personages from all walks of life attended the maiden-flight ceremony, including Cambodian officials and Chinese constructors.

Built, operated and transferred (BOT) by the Yunnan companies of Yunnan Investment Group, Yunnan Construction and Investment Group, and Yunnan Aviation Industry Investment Group, the Cambodian airport marks another high-quality project under the Belt and Road Initiative, manifesting the concepts of open, green and clean cooperation and shared benefits.

The airport covers 81,800 square meters and it is equipped with 3,600-meter runways. Located in Sotr Nikum district of Siem Reap province, about 40 km from the UNESCO-listed Angkor Archeological Park, the airport is designed with an annual passenger throughput of 7 million.
